This book examines the process and features of development of the improvement campaign of Tan'gun royal mausoleum(檀君陵修築運動). The author investigates the recognition in the period of Japanese colonial through this study. This tomb, introduced first the geography of the Eastern Kingdom, Tongguk-yŏjisŭngnam(東國輿地勝覽) in Kangdonghyŏn(江東縣) 'Kojŏk', was respected as Tan’gunnŭng(檀君陵) right before losing national power from Japan. It had been almost neglected since colonial period but started campaign being led by confucians in Kangdong-kun(江東郡) of P’yŏngannam-to(平安南道) in 1920s and 1930s.
